Recently I attened a Small Business Bootcamp through the local library, and let me me tell you what....I learned that I have a LOT to learn. We had breakout classes and I learned about Telling my Story. I need to make sure that I am saying the same thing across all social media. I also learned that I need add photos to just about anything I do. Then through other sources I found out that videos are the way to go. This all fine and good I just need to figure it all out. Onward and upward.
Goals for this year are to meet new people and introduce my voice to as many new prospective clients as possible. To start at least 3 new conversations a day on social media, and to not be scared of messing up. To really enjoy this profession that chose me and to do my upmost best at everything I try.
E-mails, scary though right? Not is you have the right tools. Utilizing an email template from a fantastic professional voiceover is the way to go. I am glad I found Marc Scott at www.marcscottcoaching.com So, let your fingers fly and your goals will start to soar.
Goals. Goals are an essential if not important part of any business. They are scary yet they are there to encourage and motivate.
Working on marketing is quite a daunting task. Now that I am working with Nimble it just got a whole lot easier.
Learning a new sound software is overwhelming at times. I have great mentors out there are are helping me by giving me the tools I need to succeed. This business is very competitive and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Things are really starting to stir!!! Since going to the Network After Work event last month I have signed on with the talent agency Voices& I feel like I am on the road upward. I am excited to be working with Vicki and getting quality auditions for local and national companies. I also am starting a big project next week and am looking forward many more projects in the future. Just hope they are not too far in the future.
It finally happened....I was hired to do a job and actually got paid for doing it. I voiced a training module
I am setting goals instead of resolutions this year because I think goals are easier to achieve and not as likely to break a goal. I am making sure I follow up with emails etc and really practicing as every time I do I learn something new. I really love ready the professionals blogs too. I learn so much from them. I knew when i got into this business it would be hard, but I am just as committed to making this business a name that holds its own up with the big ones as i was when all this began almost a year ago. I've still got alot of fight left in me!!!
Well, after trying to figure some things out I think I finally have learned more about my editing tools. LOL I have posted 2 new readings so I hope that you enjoy them. Its been a very productive weekend.
I am so ready to get this new year started I can hardly stand it. Needless to say I am ready to get this voiceover business off the ground and in the air. I have already contacted a talent agency and so let the waiting begin (only until next week that is). I am starting today to also do some recording and get it on here asap. I am still excited to be apart of this amazing business.
After spending over 25 years of being an Interpreter for the Deaf and teaching sign language, Melissa needed something different. Guess you could say she had a mid-life epiphany! Now that her hands were retiring it was time to give her voice a shout out!
